Subject: [LACoBirds] Unidentified exotic in San Pedro
Saw an odd yellow-and-black bird, oriole-sized, but with a heavier bill and shorter tail, perched atop a Washingtonia palm in San Pedro this evening.  Head was all black, undersides yellow.  The back was greenish and black, with a yellow rump.  The beak was fairly heavy, and the eyes were red.  I posted a couple of distant photos in the directory "Unidentified Exotic"  All suggestions as to what it is will be gratefully received.
