Subject: [nflbirds] Hummingbird with a lot of white on face
Hi all

A neighbor sent me this report of a hummingbird seen and photographed on Baldwin Drive in Tallahassee 2 weeks ago. The picture is blurry but the bird appears in the lower right corner just above and to the right of the pink flowers.

The white seems to be forward to and above the eyes. (Wrong location for white-eared?) Any suggestions as to what it might be?

If the attachment does not appear in this nflbirds post, I can send it to you by individual email upon request.

A hummingbird with a lot of white above its eyes.

One of my students in the master naturalist class said she's had a very unusual hummingbird around her house for the past two days.

The photo is very blurry, but the bird is in the bottom right corner of the photo. Just to the right of the flowers and slightly above. About 2 o'clock if the flower was the center of a clock.

Can you make it out? What do you think? A juvenile, or a migrant from north or west, or a stray blown in by Hurricane Dorian?

Since she has a photo, blurry though it may be, I suggested she post it on ebird and inaturalist.
