Subject: [wisb] Leucistic Ruby-throated Hummingbird---Southwest Side of Madison
A Leucistic Ruby-throated Hummingbird is being seen in a yard on the
southwest side of Madison (these homeowners hosted an immature male Rufous
Hummingbird that was banded by Mickey O'Connor in October 2015!).

A decision was made to not band this bird because of the stress on an
already vulnerable bird, the fact that an identification of the species of
the bird was made with the help of experts in the field based on the
photos, and that no banded leucistic or albino hummingbirds have ever been
