Hello Bird People,

I did not plan on birding after yesterday's birding & driving
extravaganza but I woke up at the regular time so I went to Wood Dale
Reservoir after all. While there I ran into Luis Munoz & here's what
we saw.

D.C. Cormorant (6)
Great Blue Heron (4) & Great Egret (3)
Canada Goose (6) & Mallard (12)
Killdeer (5)
Ring Billed (6) & Herring (1) Gulls
(Once again no Caspian Terns were present)
Kingfisher (1-F)

Middle Pond

Great Blue Heron (2) & Great Egret (1)

Western (Itasca) Wetlands

D.C. Cormorant (1 fly-by)
Great Blue Heron (1) & Great Egret (2)
Mallard (31)
PINTAIL (1-F or young male)
Cooper's Hawk (1)
Killdeer (24)
Solitary (4) & Spotted (2) Sandpipers
Barn Swallow (~15)

I had 15 species of land birds with the most interesting being
Swainson's Thrush (1), a singing
Warbling Vireo, 28 Cedar Waxwings & 1 each Palm & Blackpoll Warbler.

While not as exciting as yesterday's big ticket birds today's
Bird-Of-The-Day will be the
Pintail & Runners-Up to the Cooper's Hawk, & the Kingfisher. Luis
picks the Palm Warbler for
