Weather: Heavy overcast skies and gusty winds from the outer fringes of Hurricane Dorian off the Carolinas coast. Intermittent light drizzle turned more steady and heavier about 1 pm DST so the hawk watch ended at 1:25 DST
Raptor Observations: only one migrant, a BW early. An imm, probably juv, Bald Eagle flew in at low altitude turned and disappeared behind our "disappearing tree". It was not counted as a migrant.
Non-raptor Observations: Tree swallows and chimney swifts were around. Also 3 eastern kingbirds squabbling in the metasequoias, at least 3 eastern bluebirds, and a small flock of cedar waxwings.
Predictions: Could be a nice day with some birds. Mostly sunny, with a high near 79.
