Subject: [wisb] Lake Park Fall Warbler Walk #2, August 31, 2019
25-30 birders gathered near the Lake Park warming house on this lovely,
sunny, pleasantly cool late summer morning, then birded in leisurely
fashion along the edges of the Locust St. ravine, over the pedestrian
bridge, and out past the golf course to the Wolcott Statue and lion
bridges. Overall the morning was somewhat quiet--the trees were not
brimming with birds bustling about. But nevertheless, there were
sufficient numbers and variety to enable us to amass a quiet respectable
total of 52 species, including 12 species of warblers, mostly single
individuals, hopefully harbingers of many more to come.
