Subject: [VTBIRD] black-billed cuckoo
While common nighthawks are overhead, winging their way to South America,
black-billed cuckoos are raising families.

27 August 2020: two in the morning, bedroom windows cranked open. Barely
any moon to speak of. A *very *noisy cuckoo woke me up. I assume the bird
foraged (between calls) in the front-yard walnut tree, which supports seven
webworms tents, all of them swollen with fat, furry caterpillars.
