The STKI was observed this morning around 1000 from the Red Trail at the Trexler Nature Preserve near Schnecksville, Lehigh County, PA. There is a deep valley between this Red Trail observation point on the northern edge of the preserve (near a metal bench) and the location described on Facebook recently above the Mill Creek Road parking area. After close observation of the bird from the Red Trail, it flew across the deep valley and circled overhead for visitors at the original location. Bottom line is that the bird is still around, still actively hunting and feeding over a wide area with several good observation locations to which you have to hike at least a mile or more to reach. This bird is worth the hike.
