Subject: Selasphorus Hummers
Dear PABirders,
Please remember to keep your eyes peeled for Selasphorus hummers as the summer winds down. Check those rectrices for orange/rufous!
There was a probable adult female Selasphorus in Lycoming Co last week which I IDed from a photo (triangular central gorget spot without stippling) and an adult male Allen's IDed from photos in VA ( https://ebird.org/view/checklist/S59112269 ).
And remember, as Scott Weidensaul said "the Selasphorus we have reported are just the tip of the iceberg".
Thanks,
