Subject: [obol] juv. Baird's SP, other Lane Co Coast notes
Today Sean Burns and I had a juvenile BAIRD'S SANDPIPER at Sutton Cr, Lane
co. A little south at Heceta beach was a juvenile SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPER
which has been around for 3 days. It is using the big puddle just north of
Driftwood Shores with a few hundred Westerns and some Semipalmated
Plovers.

Down at Siltcoos there was another juv. SEMIPALMATED SP on the little tidal
pond north of Waxmyrtle trail. There was also a RED-NECKED PHALAROPE that
has been around for several days. The PURPLE MARTINS are nesting in the
newly installed boxes around the pond. One BLACK PHOEBE was also at the
pond. They seem to have bred in the area.

The oversummering MEW GULL is still roosting at the Port of Siuslaw with
some Cals and Westerns. The two Western Gull chicks on the dock are about
ready to take flight.

Good birding,
