Subject: [venturacobirding] Lawrence's Goldfinch
For those out of town birders or beginning birders that want good looks at Lawrence’s Goldfinch there is a sizable flock ranging from 15-30 adults and some fledglings hanging out at the Ojai Valley Land Conservancies Steelhead Preserve on Santa Ana Road, up several miles from Foster Park. They are generally feeding on Russian State-thistle low to the ground and perching on a barbed wire fence. They can be easily seen from the entrance road opposite the large pole barn.
