Subject: [wisb] Horicon Hwy 49 roadside nest
We were at Horicon yesterday. Nothing special to report but for the fact that, after milling around at one spot on the Fond du Lac side of the road for 10-15 minutes, a female shoveler flushed seemingly out of nowhere. I looked down and found her nest there in the roadside vegetation with seven or so eggs in it, just inches from the shoulder of the road. Be careful where you step!
