The Ground Squirrel Gazette

June 1, 2019

Yes, it’s really June. The mosquitos have figured that out. A light breeze this afternoon at HQ helped keep them down a bit.

The mockingbird continues at Frenchglen per several observers. A Red-necked Grebe was seen north of Wrights Point by Nolan Clements, Caleb Centanni, Tye Jeske and Courtney Jett. Two singing Least Flycatchers were reported at the n end of Frenchglen by Chris Lindsey. Steve Jaggers found a Whimbrel near Diamond, 16 miles from 205. HQ had nothing special today, with a mild pulse of tanagers, Warbling Vireos and buntings. Fields was reported to be slow on Friday.
