HQ featured a singing Least Flycatcher this morning. A silent empid at Fields may also have been a Least, comments welcome.
Tanager numbers at HQ were down but there were loads of them at a private home near the Alvord Desert. Fields was fairly busy today, with Olive-sided, Hermit Thrush, Townsend’s, Wilson’s, OC etc. along with an incongruous Sora calling from the wet grassy center of the oasis. The town had a few Cedar Waxwings (not common at Malheur this spring) and an Evening Grosbeak.
Weather is starting to break up and warm up a bit but visitors this weekend should expect a bumpy ride. 60s and wet periods. Not much mozzie action yet.
