Subject: [CT Birds] New Haven Prothonotary Warbler, 2nd May fallout and warbler ageing questions
There is confusion among some birders here in the US on molt and ageing terminology, a problem compounded by the fact that Europeans also use a different terminology to that currently used in the US which can cause some thinking to be involved when discussing topics that span the Atlantic.

Both David and Kathy provided a short and succinct response to the questions regarding age and I just put up a few images of the recent Prothonotary Warbler and other species that delighted the crowds last week at East Rock.
I have added in some info on ageing and sexing to the captions which, in light of the recent posts, may be interesting to some.https://naturescapeimages.wordpress.com/2019/05/12/fall-in-spring-part-1/

It's been a great spring so far!
