Mostly clear to variably cloudy, then cloudy with showers later in the day.
Quite warm with temps. reaching the low 80s F. The strong SSW wind
continued throughout the day.
Not an overwhelming number of birds, but it was steady for most of the day
with good numbers of Bald Eagle and Osprey. There was a modest flight of
TVs, sharpies, and Broad-wings. We had our sixth Black Vulture of the
season pass by at 1038 EST. With the strong south winds, birds remained
relatively low and along the lake shore.
There was a good movement of Passerines and other birds with highlights
including Double-crested Cormorant 10, Great Blue Heron 2,Solitary
Sandpiper 2, All swallows including at least 20 Cliff Swallows, Chimney
Swift 25+, Eastern Kingbird 18, Ruby-throated Hummingbird 6, Blue-gray
Gnatcatcher 1, Blue Jay 5000+, Yellow Warbler 5, Hooded Warbler 1,
Rose-breasted Grosbeak 1, Orchard Oriole 1, Baltimore Oriole 6, Bobolink
20+,and American Goldfinch 150+ Dragonflies included Common Green Darner
12 and Wandering Glider 5.
Cloudy and much cooler, with light south wind early then west winds.
Morning showers may deter any flight.
