Subject: [ia-bird] Birding Fremont County
Hi All,

One day in the rain in Fremont County on May 7 produced 106 species.
The highlight location was Forney Lake and the sheet water south of the
road there and included:
8 Soras and 1 Virginia Rail
4 Common Gallinules
1 American Avocet
1 American Bittern
4 Franklin’s Gulls and 3 Bonapartes Gulls
1 Forsters Tern and 3 Black Terns

In floodwaters sw of Percival and sw of Forney Lake:
12 Godwits at two separate sites with 8 Hudsonian and 4 Marbled
Numerous Wilson’s Phalaropes plus more shorebirds

4 Cattle Egrets with 3 in the town of Bartlett and 1 in the town of Thurman

Numerous Harris and Clay-colored Sparrows

Swainson’s Hawk along highway 2 between Sydney and Shenandoah

1 Western Kingbird in the Eaton Co.parking lot in West Shenandoah

Enroute in Ringgold Co. At the Kellerton lek were 2 Prairie Chickens
And 3 Upland Sandpipers
