Subject: [CT Birds] Northwest Park Windsor, Suffield WMA
Made quick swing throughs at Northwest Park in Windsor and Suffield WMA today. There were at least 6 Eastern Meadowlarks at Suffield, but things were agitated and stirred up by a large controlled burn on the Massachusetts side of the border. At least 4 American Kestrels were taking advantage of the flames and the prey that were fleeing them.At Northwest Park, did a quick hike around the Braille Trail Pond and nearby fields. Notable species were 2 Swainson's Thrush, 1 Canada Warbler, 1 American Redstart, 2 Common Yellowthroat, 3 Black-and-White Warbler, 1 Louisiana Waterthrush, 1 Orchard Oriole, many Baltimore Orioles, 1 Yellow-throated Vireo, 2 Great-crested Flycatcher.
