Subject: Rough-winged Swallow nest contends with obsessive lawn maintenance, Lancaster County
Above the nest burrow in the creek side bank of Little Conestoga Creek, a heavy duty mower mows right up to the edge of the bank, then a weed whacker is used to finish the job.  The weight and vibrations of the mower could easily cause the borrow to collapse.At Wheatland Hills Park, there were lots of birds, including warblers that were expected this time of year.  Pine Siskin and Purple Finches are still here. A crow flew by with a blue egg in its beak.Stanley Stahl
