This morning birding along the Deschutes River below Sherars Falls, I came across a flock of 22 LAZULI BUNTINGS (there were additional small groups of 3-5 birds each scattered around). Most of them were males. This species seemed to be everywhere this morning.
Also in the area were NASHVILLE WARBLERS, BLACK-THROATED GRAY WARBLERS, and ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLERS. A single HAMMONDS FLYCATCHER was working the few remaining patches of sagebrush (most gone due to fires).
