04/04/2019 - Portland, Portland Fairgrounds (10:05 A.M.-11:20 A.M.) — Wilson’s Snipe (26 - accurate count), Killdeer (1), Wood Duck (10), Green-winged Teal (6), Northern Shoveler (2 drakes), Northern Pintail (2/pair), American Black Duck (14), Ring-necked Duck (8), Great Blue Heron (1), Red-tailed Hawk (1), Osprey (1), Tree Swallow (8). The snipe were all seen along the grassy margins of the skating pond.
04/04/2019 - Durham, Route 147 at high tension line/Coginchaug River (12:40 P.M.-1:32 P.M.) — Virginia Rail (2, with one heard in distance and one seen to within 8 feet), Wilson’s Snipe (1 flushed).
04/04/2019 - Middlefield, Route 147 at cat-tail marsh near Miller Road (1:40 P.M.-1:55 P.M.) — Virginia Rail (2, with one heard grunt and kiddick calling in the distance and one giving steady kiddick calls straight out from the guard rail), Wood Duck (3). Heavy truck and car traffic here, as usual.
