I spotted a female Selasphorus hummer at my feeder yesterday. I'm curious if anyone could speak to the relative probability of an Allen's versus a Rufous adult female at this date in East Petaluma. I've read that the earliest migrant Rufous tend to be adult males, so perhaps this bird is slightly more likely to have been an Allen's? I couldn't get a good look at the tail feathers.
