Subject: Eastern Towhee, Allegheny County
This morning at Harrison Hills Park, Pat and I got good looks at a pair of towhees. They were in thickets of multiflora rose on either side of the trail. They would occasionally fly from one side of the trail to the other and were also calling. In some places on this section of the trail, the hoar frost was over four inches tall. Our crunching through it may have alarmed the towhees and brought them out to investigate.
