Subject: Announcing the first Bird Trek Arizona by Cottonwood Gulch Foundation

Cottonwood Gulch Foundation, a New Mexico nonprofit with more than 90 years of experience mounting self-contained educational expeditions for youth in the Southwest, is expanding its offerings for adults to include Bird Trek Arizona, an 8-day birding trip in southeastern Arizona, May 4-12, 2019. The trial run found 127 species last year. This year’s expedition will camp in the Sonoran Desert, Santa Ritas, Chiricahuas, Huachucas, and Santa Cruz River Valley, seeking SEAZ specialties, learning to distinguish the ravens, thrashers, and sparrows, developing ear-birding skills with sonograms, and appreciating the unique biogeography of southeastern Arizona. Vehicles, drivers, tents, cots, food, and a cook are all provided. Arch McCallum is the leader. For more information, follow the links, email off list, or call.
