Subject: [JERSEYBI] Franklin Township cranes
I had an hour to kill in the north end of the township yesterday (a meeting I thought was at 1 was actually at 2), so I drove out Weston Rd to look for the Sandhill Cranes. I saw them right away, in the NE corner of the big cornfield occupying the SE corner of Weston and Mettlers Rds, which the county has purchased to add to Colonial Park. Seven of them, picking though the cornstalks. Beautiful birds. I hope the county keeps leasing the property for growing corn!
