Subject: [JERSEYBI] Marcal fire and crow roost
Last night a devastating fire destroyed the whole Marcal Paper Company in
Elmwood Park in Bergen County. The trees between Rt. 80 and Marcal, as well
as some of the buildings served as a Fish Crow / American Crow roost for
the past few years. The fire chased some 3000+ birds from the site, I
assume. We know that Crows are resilient and will overcome this disaster.
Is there any information out there about how Crows, especially from a
communal roost relocate or will they try to return to the site and try to
roost there tonight?
