Subject: Common Goldeneye, Orange County NC.
A Common Goldeneye has been present at Brumley Nature Preserve in Orange County NC for a couple of days. It's in the northern section of the preserve ("Brumley Nature Preserve" hotspot) in the first pond that you come to on the Dairy Farm trail. It's in a female-type plumage but I suspect it's a juvenile male as it lacks the yellow bill tip of an adult female, and there is a tiny hint of the white spot on the face.
