This morning while heading south along South Bay Blvd in Morro Bay I saw many Canada Geese and one white one with the group.(photo) I parked in the Cerro Cabrillo day use lot and CAREFULLY crossed the often busy highway. 39 Canada Geese and one lone Ross’s Goose were grazing in the then dry edge of the estuary. I had seen and photographed a Snow Goose in the same location a few weeks ago, also with a large group of Canada Geese.
There were 7 more Canada Geese grazing near the first pond on Turri Rd. as I drove on.
Winter definitely is the season for looking at geese!
An aside- I haven’t seen the Tennessee Warbler in our yard since last Sunday, 1/20 and the Nashville last seen on 1/19. Still watching but the flock that they were often moving with also have not as yet reappeared.
