Subject: [RV Birds] Tree Sparrow among 5 new Jackson Co species for 2019
With five new species, including the American Tree Sparrow found by Frank
Lospalluto, added to the 2019 Jackson County list yesterday, the total now
stands at 141.

Also added Thursday were Ring-necked Pheasant (finally--hooray Gretchen and
Bob Hunter), Dunlin, Least Sandpiper and Long-billed Dowitcher.

How much has eBird participation increased in Jackson County in the last 10
years ? Well, in 2009 only three birders had reported more than 141
species to eBird. And that's for the ENTIRE YEAR.

Any guesses which species will be the next to be added to this year's
list. Ring-billed Gull ? Turkey Vulture ? Western Grebe ? Evening
Grosbeak ?

None of the above ?

Attached are the 2019 list (Excel and Pdf) up-to-date through January 10.
