The PA eBird Hotspot Team has created a new eBird Hotspot for Yellow Creek SP in Indiana County, PA , to encompass all of the observations, and personal locations, logged for the visiting Townsend’s Solitaire.
If you logged an eBird checklist for this species, either at the main hotspot for Yellow Creek, or, created a personal location like I did, please consider merging your checklists into the newly created hotspot for this region of the state park.
Hotspots create better data volume, as well as aggregates data collected from this area of Yellow Creek in a more precise location.
With many visiting birders, it would be great to have the eBird data consolidated, and allow this hotspot to become more powerful.
To merge your location into a hotspot, here are some step-by-step instructions:
Locate your checklist to be merged, and open it
At the very top of the checklist, click “Edit Location”
Next, select “Nearby Location on a Map”
When the map opens, the red balloons indicate eBird Hotspots
Clicking on them will you give you their name. Once you have found the desired hotspot for merging, there will be a yellow field on the right side of your checklist that says “chosen location”
Next, click the green button below that which says “Continue”
Once you have done that, you should be redirected back to your checklist, which should say “Location change successful!”
And you are done!
Thanks for your consideration.
