Subject: [texbirds] Harlan's Hawk in Chambers County, two birds?
Yesterday while birding Chambers County with John Berner, Drew
Dickert, and David
Hanson we found a Harlan's Hawk (Red-tailed Hawk) soaring over FM1941 right
before the road turns east/west. This bird is 5.5 miles straight line from
the Harlan's I found Dec 20th on the Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge
Entrance Rd. Looking closely at my photos this could possibily be 2
different birds, the Jan 5 bird appears to have a significant amount of
white in P10 (last primary on the wing). The Dec 20 bird which looks like
it has a mostly dark P10
