Subject: [VA-bird] Occoquan Bay NWR, king rails, tree sparrows
I had a nice walk at Occoquan Bay NWR this morning in Woodbridge.  I tallied 61 species.  Top birds for me were 2 king rails calling in the marsh at the end of Easy Road, 2 American tree sparrows along Fox Rd (one was singing; a real treat), a tundra swan, 2 catbirds, a thrasher, a yellow-rumped warbler, and many singing fox sparrows.  A very large raft of lesser scaup was off the gazebo (several thousand), but I could not make out any other species.
