Subject: [CT Birds] Possible Boreal Owl
East River Preserve, Guilford, woods just north of large field near bridge
by Half Mile Rd. Heard a single owl vocalizing, immediately struck me as
Boreal owl. Stacatto toots in rapid succession, seemingly more staccato,
less trilled than Eastern Screech-Owl. Primarily deciduous woods with a fee
conifers. Im playing playback of both species with no response as of yet.

Just want to get the word out. Not really sure what to make of what I
heard. Sounded absolutely spot on for Boreal. Obviously Eastern Screech is
more likely.
