Subject: [southbaybirds] Hooded Mergansers at Oka Ponds
This morning, Sunday Nov. 25, there were at least 8 HOODED MERGANSERS (male and female) in the first right-most ponds, between the trail and 17, if you enter the park from Oka Lane. It was hard to get an exact count because they were doing a lot of diving. The sun angle in the morning is awful to see them and for photography. If you’re going, consider going in the afternoon.

A male and female REDHEAD were in the largest pond with the two large islands, nearest the entrance gate.

I could not find the American Bittern, again…

Good birding!
