Subject: [cobirds] Volunteers needed to help compile the Colorado Rare Bird Alert for 2019!
Colorado birders,

Many birders rely on the Colorado Rare Bird Alert, even in this day and age
of BirdTrax and eBird. As you may have heard, Joyce Takamine’s last day
compiling the RBA will be December 31,

after posting that report on CObirds every day for 14 years!

Birders in Colorado and beyond are grateful to Joyce for her diligent
efforts.

IF any birder wants to take over compiling the Colorado Rare Bird Alert,
please email me at: jroller9 AT gmail.com

Perhaps you could be part of a team, so no one person has to do the work
alone.

To help the next compiler Joyce has prepared a detailed guide to the
sources of information she checks and the process she follows to produce
the RBA,

a gem among other state RBA’s. Where else can you find rarities listed
county by county? And updates do not need to be sent to CObirds before dawn

or even sent every day, especially when things are quiet. Coaching is
available as you get started.

If no one volunteers, the Dec 31 New Year’s Eve RBA will be the last one.
And birders will start 2019 with a little less guidance about seeking out
the birds they love.
