Subject: [MASSBIRD] Gill - Hooded Mergansers
Greetings birders,

The annual late autumn build up of Hooded Mergansers is again taking place
in Barton Cove, Gill. This morning I counted 67 and that number could climb
to triple digits over the next 10 days or so.

On Nov 13th, a female Red-breasted Merganser showed up at Barton Cove but I
haven't seen it since.

Late migrants have included a Gray Catbird in Northfield Meadows on Nov
9th, a Greater Yellowlegs on Meadow Road, Montague on Nov 14th and a Tree
Swallow (adult male) at the Turner's Falls power canal on Nov 11th.

Also of note, a single Red Crossbill calling in Montague Plains this
morning (Nov 15th).

Images of some of these, along with a summary of locally interesting
observations for this month can be seen here;

Good birding,

James
