Subject: Fieldtrip report from BESP
Hello,

This morning Susan Braun and I led a joint field trip to Bald Eagle State
Park with the Juniata Valley Audubon Society. We had 17 birders in our
group. Strong winds kept many birds quiet and hidden, but we all enjoined
the birds we saw and being outdoors together. We saw many buffleheads on
the water as well as a couple common loons. The hooded mergansers were a
highlight as were close views of a red-breasted nuthatch and flock of cedar
waxwings. After the trip, many of us enjoyed lunch at the Kitchen Witch
Cafe in Howard.

I hope to see many of you at Bird Club this Wednesday!

Julia
