Hear how "our" sparrows communicate & where they go in summer...

Have you been curious about the golden-crowned sparrows in your backyard
during winter? Do the same ones return each year? This research group has
been studying them for over 15 years, and has discovered that they have a
surprising complex social structure similar to primates and mammals. We''ll
discuss how scientists are figuring out what their golden-crowns mean, and
are uncovering where these sparrows go during migration. Learn more about
the not-so-secret-anymore lives of golden-crowned sparrows with Theadora
Block, a PhD student at UC Santa Cruz studying how individual behavior
impacts social structure of these fascinating sparrows.
