L4-17 a female Whooping Crane from the Experimental Whooping Crane Population established in Coastal Louisiana is currently in western Monroe County between Roe and Aberdeen on private land in a rice field in the NE corner of the intersection of Hwys 33 and 366. She arrived in this area over a week ago after spending several weeks along the Arkansas River in western Arkansas. She spent most of the summer in eastern OK after her release in LA this past winter. While she has been in the same location for over a week, there is no way to predict how long she will stay at her current spot. She can be observed from the road but please follow all traffic laws when pausing to look at her. L4-17 is banded and wearing a transmitter.
