Subject: [pen-bird] Continuing Palm Warbler and fairly Massive Gull Flock Half Moon Bay 10/25/18
The Palm Warbler originally found by Chris Hayward on 10/18 was still present the morning at the Half Moon Bay Water Treatment Plant. As before, It was in the sweet fennel about halfway down to the gravel parking lot on Bev Cunha's Country Road. It was loosely associating with Yellow-rumped Warblers. All the warblers were busy foraging in the fennel and the flock moved about from one side of the road to the other.

I've been checking the gull flock at Pilarcitos Creek every day. Today the flock was quite massive with at least 2500 gulls. Today there were fairly good numbers of winter gulls in the flock. Herring Gulls, Glaucous-winged Gulls and hybrids have appeared where there were only scattered individuals in the last week. One Ring-billed Gull and one Mew Gull were seen. The outflow of Pilarcitos Creek to the ocean is currently  further north closer to Frenchman's Creek.  Best access is from the Venice Beach State Park parking lot.
