Dear PA Birders,

Last week I was excited to see a lone Pine Siskin at DeSales University. I
saw another one today, a single individual tagging along with goldfinches.
I was thrilled, however, when a noisy flock of 25-30 suddenly appeared
(from the north?) and dropped down to feed in the vegetation! It appears
that others haven't reported such numbers in the eastern part of the state
yet, but hopefully there will be flocks in your area soon.

I also had great looks at an adult White-crowned Sparrow and two soaring
ravens.

Good birding,
Paul Heveran
