I surveyed Poplar Island on Friday 10/5.

Top bird was a HUDSONIAN GODWIT at the north end of the island.

Other highlights included two immature Common Gallinules walking around in the open, a large flock of American Avocets, and a cuckoo sp. that was probably a Black-billed Cuckoo.

Shorebirds were present, but hard to pin down. Lots of gull and raptor activity resulted in constant flushing and relocating of the shorebird flocks.
