Subject: [obol] 18 duck species on Philomath Ponds today
Hi all,

The Philomath Sewage Ponds were rather productive for waterfowl diversity
this morning, with 18 species of ducks (no geese present). Besides the
usual species, I was able to pick out one female BLUE-WINGED TEAL, a male
REDHEAD, a female CANVASBACK, a female GREATER SCAUP, and a female SURF
SCOTER.

Other species of note included an EARED GREBE and a DOUBLE-CRESTED
CORMORANT.

Six MEADOWLARKS were in the big field to the west of the ponds, a couple of
them singing.

*Please remember*: If you want to bird the Philomath Sewage Ponds, you need
to pick up an entry permit at the Philomath Public Works Department on
Willow St. in Philomath.

Happy waterfowling
Hendrik
