FYI - it was much larger than a piliated woodpecker and a different shape. Definitely in the hawk family.

Subject: [JERSEYBI] Fwd: Help Needed

Watched a large bird flying this morning - definitely a hawk of some sort - or at least the size of a hawk. But it was not gliding - it was undulating - up and down in beautiful sweeping curves. Have never seen this behavior before. Can anyone help with identification? Unfortunately had no bins with me, but it was a darker color. This was in Central New Jersey near Princeton.
Many thanks,Ida Ruch
