This morning I walked from the end of Royal to Gibson Island finding a late BLACK-NECKED STILT along with a smattering of shorebirds including Killdeer, Least Sandpiper, Long-billed Dowitcher, Wilsons Snipe and Greater Yellowlegs. Raptors were active with a juvenile and adult Peregrine Falcon harassing Mallards and an American Bittern. Other raptors included Bald Eagle, Northern Harrier, Red-tailed & Red-shouldered Hawk and a hunting Merlin. Three Otter were on the dike to Gibson Island and a Coyote was skulking about the shore of the island.
