Yesterday morning upon looking around the property I happened across a few migrants on their southward journey. A couple of the best species included a hatch-year female NORTHERN PARULA and a BLACKBURNIAN WARBLER..
Despite the south winds and temps flirting with 90F, Towl Park had a few neotropical visitors. Some of these incuded…
- Olive-sided Flycatcher
- Blue-headed Vireo
- Red-breasted Nuthatch (not neotropical)
- Swainson's Thrush
- Black-and-White Warbler
- Nashville Warbler
- Mourning Warbler
- American Redstart
- Magnolia Warbler
- Black-throated Green Warbler
- Wilson's Warbler
- Rose-breasted Grosbeak
Last week 9/07 a few species on the Mercer Woods property included a BLACK-BILLED/YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO, three (3) MAGNOLIA WARBLER, a first fall male BAY-BREASTED WARBLER, TENNESSEE WARBLER and others.
Of course all of the sightings can be viewed on eBird.
