The weekly walk at Dyke Marsh yesterday, sponsored by the Friends of Dyke Marsh and open to all, was rather quiet, with few migrants about and waterfowl scarce. It was still a pleasant walk and the 13 participants enjoyed close looks at 3 green herons and a great egret in the marina, 2 orchard orioles, a bald eagle carrying nesting material in the vicinity of the nest along the trail, and a spotted sandpiper teetering on a log.
