Subject: [VA-bird] Leesylvania State Park migrants
No waves of migrants of any size at Leesylvania SP in Woodbridge this morning. I managed to tally 9 warbler species but it took a lot of work. The highlight was a blue-winged warbler (flagged by ebird) in the stream valley across the road from the Powell's Creek Trail parking lot. Also seen in the park were 5 black-and-whites, 2 yellowthroats, 3 redstarts (including an adult male), a northern parula, 3 yellows, a chestnut-sided, a yellow-throated, and a Canada (nice adult male). Other notables were lots of red-eyed vireos and blue-gray gnatchers, good numbers of yellow-billed cuckoos, a scarlet tanager, and 2 Baltimore orioles.
