Hello, this is the Audubon society of Portland rare bird report. This report
was made Thursday July18. If you have anything to add call Harry nehls at
503-233-3976.

An adult LAWRENCEıS GOLDFINCH accompanying four chicks was observed July 9
at Provolt Pond south of Grants Pass.

On July 5 a summering flock of 1665 immature SURF SCOTERS were on the ocean
off Yaquina Head. HEERMANNıS GULLS are now drifting northward along the
coast. On July 7 over 150 were on Long Beach in Washington. Over 100 BROWN
PELICANS were at Ecola State Park July 11. On July 7 a GOLDEN-CROWNED
SPARROW was near Bandon. A LAPLAND LONGSPUR was seen July 10 on the North
Spit of Coos Bay.

A SAYıS PHOEBE was reported July 9 at Company Lake near the Troutdale
Airport. The PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVER continues at Fern Ridge Reservoir. An
AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER was photographed July 6 at the Crooked River Wetlands
in Prineville.
