Subject: [LABIRD-L] Orchard Oriole fall migration

At a time of year when there’s not much activity except for waiting for shorebirds, now is the time Orchard Orioles start gathering in groups to migrate south. I’ve noticed them at my house/yard over the last 3 or 4 days in groups of around 10 or 12. It’s not uncommon to find groups of 20 or 30 or more. They tend to be in normal habitat, so if you know such areas, you might think about find migrating flocks of them this weekend or over the next few weeks. Mostly, it’s female/first year types.
